TORONTO – Today, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced media accreditation is now open for the 2021 JUNO Opening Night Awards (Friday, June 4, 2021) and The 50th Annual JUNO Awards Broadcast (Sunday, June 6, 2021), both being held as virtual events.
Media accreditation will be open from Tuesday, April 6 at 10 a.m. ET to Friday, May 7 at 5 p.m. ET. Due to the volume of applications received, submissions will not be accepted after the deadline. Media will be notified of their accreditation status no later than Friday, April 30.
Media accreditation will only be open to media outlets. Requests from individuals or freelancers will only be considered if they can confirm JUNOS coverage on behalf of a media outlet.

The week-long virtual music celebration commences Monday, May 31, and will include various virtual JUNO Week events (details to come), including the 2021 JUNO Opening Night Awards, on Friday, June 4, where 37 statuettes will be handed out. Closing with the country’s biggest night in music – The 50th Annual JUNO Awards Broadcast will air live across Canada Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music and streaming globally on CBCmusic.ca/junos.
